Hotel Ideal is just a
stroll (only 50 meters) from the railway station, in an area of the
historic center of the city.
Just a short walk from this hotel in Naples, one can find the renowned
Rettifilo (Corso Umberto), an unrivaled street for shopping or a stroll,
culminating in Piazza del Plebiscito, the monumental center of the city.
The walk starts here which takes in the sea up to Mergellina, where you
will have the chance to admire the famous view of the Gulf of Naples.
Extremely close to the hotel, the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, in
the square bearing its name, one of the most interesting historical and
artistic locations, and one of the most loved by the Neapolitans due to
their devotion to Madonna Bruna. It is the location of the famous
Madonna del Carmine festival on the 16th July, during which fireworks
simulate a fire rising from the bell-tower of the church (the highest in
Naples, 75 meters). The west of Corso Garibaldi hosts a bustling
district with one of the most crowded and lively markets in the city.
Naples, a Mediterranean metropolis, and its surroundings propose
numerous reasons for a visit. The beauty of the Neapolitan landscape
owes its charm to its closeness to the sea. The entire area around the
ancient capital, with its domes and bell-towers, is enhanced by the
marvel of Vesuvius, Carpi, Ischia, Procida, the Sorrentina Peninsula and
Campi Flegrei. In the hinterland, towards the hills and surrounded by
greenery, one can admire Certosa and Castel Sant’Elmo, and right in
front of the port, the impressive Castel Nuovo pier.
The city, from the most elegant streets of the Vomero to the “bassi”
alleys and the historic center, always maintains the charm of a bustling
city which is full of traffic, yet offers plenty of museums and restored
important buildings which are all open to the public (S. Giovanni a
Carbonara, Incoronata, S. Giovanni a Mare), theaters (Bellini, Augusteo,
Mercadante) and churches (S. Chiara, S. Lorenzo, Il Gesù, the Duomo).
With convenient and fast Circumflegrea, Cumana and Circumvesuviana
trains and boats, it is possible to take daily excursions in the most
famous areas of the city, while the hillside subway allows you to visit
unspoilt areas of the suburbs and the farthest green zones, where one
can find small characteristic village historic centers.
BY CAR
From the A1 motorway, take the exit for Naples and continue in the
direction of the A3 / E45 for 4 km. Continue for Naples -Reggio Calabria
and take the exit for Naples Center. At the first traffic light turn
right in Via Ferraris and drive ahead for 200 meters along Corso Arnaldo
Lucci. You will arrive in Piazza Garibaldi and the station is on your
right. Hotel Ideal is on your left.
FROM THE AIRPORT, BY CAR Take the ring road in the direction of
Pozzuoli and exit at Corso Malta. Drive towards Via Nuova Poggioreale
and turn right in Piazza Nazionale. Take Corso Novara to the left, then
turn right onto Via Firenze. After circa 100 meters turn left onto Via
Torino. Once you arrive in Piazza Garibaldi, you will find Hotel Ideal
on the opposite side of the road.
FROM THE AIRPORT, BY BUS There are two buses that take you from
the airport to Piazza Garibaldi, where you will find our hotel: the 3S,
normal line bus, that leaves circa every thirty minutes (cost of ticket,
to be bought before boarding, is 1 €). The other bus is the Alibus, a
special shuttle that arrives in the major squares of Naples and costs 3€
(you can buy the ticket on board).
FROM THE AIRPORT, BY TAXI The average cost of a taxi from the airport to
Hotel is circa 13.00 €.
